I bought this treadmill because of it's high rating in Consumer Reports. I'll admit that, so far, I'm happy with it. However, I was dissapointed to learn that it was made in China. My experience with Chinese products has not been a positive one. Poison in dog food, toothpaste, pharmaceuticals, and sheetrock are just a few examples of why I am so lerry of Chinese products. Low quality and cheap components seem to be synonymous with "Made in China".
I know it's unthinkable for America to build our own treadmills, but I would feel a lot more confident about my investment if it had been made in Japan or Germany. Time will tell.
