Buying Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill

After reading Consumer Reports and Amazon reviews, I decided to purchase the Series 7 treadmill from Amazon. The cost is reasonably competitive for this well-built machine (heavy assemblies and motor from Taiwan). I ordered the free freight option.

The unit shipped from Reno to LA (silly hub and spoke) to Salt Lake on Eagle (Amazon). Then a moving company made the final delivery to Montana. Total delivery time was about two weeks.

The unit ships on its 'nose' (motor end down). When the box arrived on the truck, the motor cover was completely visible through the crushed cardboard box. The driver and I could see the motor cover was severely cracked. Amazingly, in spite of the fact that the entire lower portion of the box was destroyed, none of the ship loose parts were missing. I ordered and received a replacement motor cover from Nautilus for $57. (Freght claim to follow.) After transferring the decals, the unit looks like new.

Ordering and replacing the parts took time that could have been avoided if Nautilus would engineer a better packaging scheme to protect the delicate motor cover during shipping. It was obvious that I was not the first person to order a replacement motor cover. Other reviews confirm the same issue.

The performance of the treadmill is very good. Many reviewers make negative comments about the fan but I did not buy this treadmill because of the prospect of an effective fan. The platform is solid and powerful. Operation is quiet.

This treadmill is a very cost-effective alternative to expensive commercial units and is much higher quality than the box store and warehouse versions. I would buy it again. Get more detail about Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill.
